A Sparrow’s Life

I’ve lived life as a sparrow

never soared above the rest

never been nobody special

I never shined with the best

I’ve had my share of failures

lost a lot in life’s contest

but if I have you Lord I’m a winner

and I consider myself blessed

Far above this hurt and pain

I won’t feel these limitations

At last I’ll break these chains

And rejoice in my soul

Just a sparrow singing praises

Forever to my Lord

 

I’ve seen a fallen sparrow

and felt a sense of loss

one of God’s beautiful creatures

returning to the dust

for everything there’s a season

spring must turn to fall

every sparrows days are numbered

it’s how you fly that matters most
